Vision:
Circus is a media content choosing an app that relieves the unwanted hassle from moments like Coming back home, sitting down for a takeout meal or watching a movie with a partner. To moments when the challenge is unwelcome.
Challenges:
01
Create multiple ways
to choose media
02
Provide
guided assistance
03
Provide answers to
real-life situations
Framing:
Starting by initially asking my potential users basic preliminary questions: what are you looking for when you choose to see media? When does this action generally take place? How do you eventually settle for media to see? Learning and getting a grasp of the challenges the other users face when they need to choose media. And decided on un monetized qualitative research to mimic the natural setting of the product's usage.
Meet the Users:

Yulanda Feber
Age 61, Bookkeeper
Yulanda is a Bookkeeper for various companies. Yulanda spends 40 hours at her job and needs to answer her children's needs. Maintain household chores. Wishes for a stress-free time and attention during her time off

Emily Hakim
Age 21, High school graduate
Emily is a student, who works from home for 45 hours a week. Juggling those two activities brings stress. Yet some release from the solitude that working from home brings. Wishes for good energy, and a stress-free time when interacting and spending her spare time.
Competitive analysis:
To construct a concise and solid foundation for Circus, I had to search out and see what the Direct prominent media streaming applications or indirect options were already doing and what user goals they were not reaching. I constructed a list of features that align with the user's goals for the audit.

Most of the content providers at this moment are using the same journey/methodologies of genres and listing them one by one. An option to search, etc
-
Netflix has an innovative random episode that breaks the norm
-
Apple TV has irregular viewing order, almost personalised generated pages.
-
none of the participants showed any help or assistance helping the user decide what to watch or be in an interaction with the user.
-
an opportunity to create further interest in interaction due to similarity in usage between participants.
Information architecture:
As learned, The steps have to be as few as possible while providing consistent assistance.

Wireflow:

Iteration:
Testing has shown that there is
such a degree of too much assistance. Much like when entering a store, you need the assistance close by when you
need it to rather than on the hand.

Facing The Challange:
1.
Create multiple ways to choose media
Method Choosing
Growth and expansion in mind. Booths of various vendors are presented. Each will present his unique way to sort and choose media.
-
The oracle - by answering three questions.
-
The duel - for two partners. Each Confidently ranks 4 media from 1-4. And met together with the results.
-
The dealer - draws up one movie each time.

2.
Create a guided assistance
Immediate Guidance
Booth with the circus ringmaster at the upper left corner, always in plain sight, in immediate reach.

3.
Give answers to real-life situations
Option To Choose
Entering the app, you are presented with tickets, to define your entrance intentions - Takeout dinner, Date, Friends gathering, Halloween, Etc.

Takeaways:
Circus made me remember that the design you are creating is an outlet of you. An outlet of your current state of mind. That means that if you have a weak understanding of the goal that you are trying to accomplish or have a loose statement or understanding of certain aspects, it will “bleed” out, and compromise the coherent statement of the overall objective experienced by the user.
